Nola Seafood – Flushing, Queens

Being from the South and living in New York, obviously I get excited when places claim to have southern style type food. When I was invited to Nola Seafood, I HAD to go. Plus I am a seafood fiend.

My favorite thing was the lobster rolls by farrrr. I got my broil with spicy garlic sauce which was great on the sausage, shrimp, and corn. I even dipped the fries into it, it was so good. I however, was not a fan of the blue crab. Maybe it was just me, but I couldn’t seem to get any meat out of it. Did make for a fun pic though!

Montagu’s Gusto – Murray Hill

I was invited to try a bite at this cozy artisan eatery in Murray Hill. When you walk in, you notice this fresh display of ingredients. For me, it’s speaks to the food’s freshness when it’s upfront hanging out for you to see, and everything did tasted incredibly fresh. From the salads to the handcrafted speciality sandwiches, everything is locally sourced and also reasonably priced. I MEEANNNN check out that steak sandwich, they definitely hooked it up on the steak. Finding a loaded fresh steak sandwich in New York City for under $13.00 is a deal you gotta be a part of. This place is a must go.

Pizzarte – Midtown Manhattan

One of my favorite restaurants in the city for sure. Every time my mom comes into town, we have to go here. She loves this place just as much as me, if not MORE. From their apps, to their pastas, to of course, their pizzas, you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu… and trust me, I’ve about had it all.

Goodbye NYC

I left Manhattan about a week ago and man, I miss it. The sparkling lights of the city, the bustling streets and the crowded sidewalks already seem like a distant memory. When I step out of my Texas suburban house in the 100 degree heat, a sense of boredom arises without the hustling crowds and the scampering subway rats. And being back in Texas during August, a good amount of sweat arises too.

I fell in love with the city. The heart has a funny way of cherishing everything when its in love. I mean, I did just imply that I missed the subway rats.

My next flight is already booked and I will be back in less than a month. Back in the city, back in love.
